Reflecting back on his life, as he approached his death, Jim said he had done everything in life that he ever wanted to do which was to love and provide for his family and friends to the very best of his ability. Jim lived a full life and lived to the ripe old age of 85 years old. He had been a Grandson, Son, Brother, Nephew, Cousin, Brother-in-Law, Husband, Father, Step-Father, Father-in-law, Uncle, Grandad, Friend, Landlord, Leader, Grafter, Philosopher, Counselling Advisor, Encourager, Business Man, Betting Man, Traveller, Keen Driver and Kind neighbour.

Jim's Mantra was 'Do One Kindness Every Day' – no matter how big or how small. He also taught me loyalty and the importance of caring for those who are less able than yourself. Jim was Loved by so many people and he Loved them back in return. In his last few days, he mentioned that his beloved wife, Elsie, was standing by his bed watching over him. I'm sure Elsie and Jim are thoroughly delighted to be re-united. We wish Jim and Elsie all the best for happiness in their Eternity together.

In the last few weeks of his life, Jim spent some time in hospital. When Jim realized that he didn't have much longer to live, he decided that he wanted to spend his remaining time at home surrounded by his beloved family and friends. The Palliative Team from Royal Blackburn Hospital arranged for Jim to come home for Fast Track End of Life care.

Jim's family are extremely grateful to all the staff at Rossendale Hospice and also the District Nurses in Haslingden for their excellent care. Jim passed away peacefully dreaming at home with his daughter and son-in-law sitting next to him.

The last thing his grandson said to him was “Give Grandma a Hug from Me”.

Elsie and Jim - we love you so much! We know you will be very pleased that this Lasting Tribute Memorial page has been set up in your names to help Rossendale Hospice to help others. You always helped others during your life and I'm sure you want to continue to help others now.

Thank You for visiting this Tribute to Jim and Elsie Wild. Thanks also if you have given a donation in their memory to support the amazing work that Rossendale Hospice does every hour of every day.
